Second time around for Timmion's brilliant 2009 compilation of Little Ann's previously unreleased late 1960s soul recordings, Deep Shadows. Famously, the artist - real name Ann Bridgeforth - never tasted the success at the time she was recording her Chicago soul gems, and it was only when a couple of British soul collectors uncovered her original session recordings in the 1990s that the quality of her unreleased work became more widely known. Featuring a mixture of emotion-rich stompers, slow jams, dancefloor-ready sing-alongs and sugary torch songs, Deep Shadows is a superb introduction to the late singer's work that puts her terrific voice front and centre. This edition has also been pressed to gold coloured vinyl, making it even more desirable
